Description
The Bhopal Development Plan 2031 is the statutory master plan for the Madhya Pradesh capital, prepared by the state's Directorate of Town and Country Planning and notified in 2023 after a long and contested drafting process. It organises metropolitan growth around transit corridors while imposing protective controls on the catchment of the Upper Lake and the city's other water bodies and green areas. The plan allocates land uses, densities and road hierarchies for a rapidly expanding capital region.
