Low-carbon eco-city on salt pans
International eco-urbanism pilot
The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City (from 2008) is a planned district near Tianjin developed jointly by China and Singapore on degraded, salt-pan land, with quantified targets for green building, renewable energy, water recycling, and transit-oriented layout.
Tianjin Eco-City is a flagship of intergovernmental eco-city collaboration and the attempt to make sustainability measurable and replicable, exporting Singapore's planning expertise into China's vast urbanization.
