Description

Copenhagen's Nordhavn (from 2008) is transforming a former industrial harbour into a dense, sustainable district built on the '5-minute city' principle, with islands and canals, repurposed warehouses, a driverless metro, and ambitious energy and cycling standards.

Nordhavn is a leading model of Scandinavian sustainable waterfront urbanism, combining proximity planning, adaptive reuse, and climate goals into one of Europe's most-studied new districts.
