Cell-based low-traffic neighborhoods
Replicable street-network reform
Barcelona's Superblocks (from 2016) group nine city blocks into 'superilles' where through-traffic is removed from interior streets, reclaiming roadway as pedestrian plazas, play space, and greenery to cut pollution and reclaim the public realm.
The Superblocks are the most influential recent model of tactical-turned-structural street transformation, showing how an existing grid can be reprogrammed to prioritize people, health, and climate over cars.
